As said before, do not ask too much. Your job is not asking questions but taking pictures. So, even when she is moving, arranging herself or her dress or whatsoever, shoot ! If some of the taken pictures do not match your taste or hers you can eliminate them later on before processing them. So have fun and do what you can do: Shoot the moment and enjoy it.

What can be more exciting ? Sitting in the bath, near the tub, watching her moving gently, softly rubbing her body, enjoying the warm water, playing with the bubbles, smiling. You can hear the water making noises and your only job is to watch her, to take close up pictures. This is the funpart of our job. And she loves to play the role of Venus in the Bath… and to give it a more sensational look i converted it into somehow Polaroid look. Hope you enjoy …

That´s a question every girl, every woman in world ask again and again. Sometimes in front of a mirror sometimes they ask YOU and look out, giving the right answer is not only “Yes, baby, sure…” or “No baby but the neighbor..” It is the nature of woman to show herself attractive, sexy, worth to fight for. And what is a photographers work in this question? Easy. You are the mirror on the wall: “You are the most beautiful in the world” and your pictures have to proof that fact otherwise they will beat you…

In this special case i took a former published picture and brushed it up with a vintage look, added some slight color spots to achieve the final look. And ? Yes she likes it :)

Blue Moon – Temptation

While on the wooden ground, searching for nice looking positions, i could see in her eyes a rapid change in attitude. She was no longer searching, she had indeed something already in mind. So i decided to follow her thru the camera finder. That was a very good idea, when suddenly the gameplay changed and she altered her pose to a massive diagonale one, changing the facial expression, her right hand quickly grasped the silky veil to open just a touch of tempting view on woman´s attractions. Well, i made the picture, what else could i do ?

And after such success she moved herself into another pose, very quickly, i had some problems to track focus on her and she gave me a new attractive and tempting position. Again i made the picture, with a smile in my face she already recognized and took it as positive feed back.

She offered me another cup of tea and i nearly lost the cup….Girls like to play. Yes and man too. Now you know why it is essential to have a quick and responsive camera not in your bag but ready for the action near your hands.

Grap it, the camera i mean, and take your picture. And here is another big point you can easily see from such scenes: Yes the emotional layer. But it is another big point: When you try to get a model to pose for you, search for a model who is performing a story, choose the actress not the static model. Choose the one who wants to express something, who has a story to tell, a player, a performer, the actress. We do not need a statue, i do not like static poses in the pictures as you already know. Life is the key and the impact. That is only possible when you and your model act as story and storyteller. So express yourself in the pictures.

Details: Olympus E-5, Zuiko 50 Macro, ISO 1600, f5, 1/100 second. Again no additional light, no reflector and no hidden tricks. Just the light from the open window directed with a piece of paper from the actual newspaper that day :)

Today he decided to be brave. To be the ultra bold one. He took his camera equipment, all he had, put it around his neck, around his hips, into a big bag and the rest into one big rucksack. His only intention was, to look like a famous photographer from “Playboy”. Something was missing …. Yes, he put on his very old, washed out basecap and clicked his selfmade press identity card onto his T-Shirt. One quick controllview into his mirror: “Yes, i am the Playboy photographer” he said and step straight out of the door. SHE was his goal. Mrs. Robinson was all about in his thirsty mind. And his plan was good… thats what he thought.
He knocked against her door and she opened up the door. “Hi, my dear, are you Mrs. Robinson ?” he asked. “Yes, for sure” she answered and she discovered her nasty little neighbour with his basecap pulled into his face but decided to play the game with him. “Well, ahem, Mister Hefner sent me, you know , Mr. Heffner, the owner of Playboy magazine ..” “Oh, yes i know Hugh well..we know each other from school” was her polite answer. “And what does he want from me ??” He was so engaged in his role, that he did not recognize anything from his surrounding…. “Well, he asked me to take some pictures of you, topless, you understand ?” In the next moment he saw her undressing and lying on the sofa. “Is this OKAY for you?”, she asked him. His throat went instantly dry but bold enough he pulled his camera in “P” mode and did the shots.

“Sweetheart, we are ready now for the action!” came to his ears. What a surprise for our little nasty friend. “You can come around now. Light is already set, the makeup artist is waiting for you !”
Mrs. Robinson smiled, went up quickly and said: “Okay boys, that is so kind of Hugh that he sent us another photographer from his staff to us to make the Playmate of the month picture !” Our little friend understood in a second, went red and decided to jump thru the open window…..When he found himself lying in a big cactus he could hear her laugh ! “But i have a topless picture !” he thought pulled out the cam and found it broken, smashed into pieces like his gear. Everything destroyed, only the SD card was OK. So one picture of her was his pay. Good enough for him ….

“Playmate” was the short storyboard for this shooting. She did it beautiful. Me on a ladder from above. Go thru your planning. Find just themes and write them down. Do not waste any thought about HOW to do the themes. Just write them down. Within a minute or so you will have twenty or more shooting themes to choose from. Read them loudly, laugh about it and write down what SHE says first to the named themes. Thats the storyboard you can develop now.

Be bold

From time to time, while planning what and how to shoot, special things happen to us. To you as well as to me. I promise, i bet, you know what i mean. Sitting at the table and talking with your model about how to dress, what poses looks best and so on. And while doing so you take some cake, a cup of tea. And she asked “You want another cup of tea ?” and leans foward. Her loose T-Shirt opens up, offering a view no real man can resist. First you try to hide your view looking into her eyes, talking normaly…. “Do you want another sweet cake ?” and again she offers a fantastiv view, smiling. Uhhhh, she knows what she is doing. Now YOU have to decide what to do. I know my preferred model very well so i know that she is playing a game, provocating me a a bit, offering the “boys view”. Okay, now i was bold, grapped the cam with the macro lens on it and shot directly into her wide open décolleté.

“Oh thanks my dear, yes i like another cake”, was my bold answer after doing so, smiling again into her smiling face, acting as if nothing had happend. Do not try this bold act with a stranger girl ! She will beat you down ! You need to have a relation to your model, a trusty reliable emotional layer. If so, her only reaction will be a fine but whimsically smile. So it is now up to you to build a trusty relation with your model, emotional layer. Such is enabling you to shoot such picture with the “Boom Boom Boom” effect.

Invisible

It happens nearly all the time, that things are done invisible to others. Small acts, gestures, movements not recognized. It is worth looking close. Look ! Look what your model is doing while not being photographed. See all the funny things she is doing while not in your focus, unobserved. Try to catch such moments of unbelievable beauty.

You will never regret. And again it is an easy setup for this picture. Olympus E-5, ISO100, f4.5, 1/30 second to let the roomlight register, one single hotshoe flash bounced to my left into one white reflector a bit behind her.

Yearning

It was a long time without him and today he will return. Everything is prepeared, ready to embrace him. Her love is burning deep inside her body, crying for him to touch her, to kiss her lips waiting for his love. But will he arrive soon ?? Will he be on time ?? He is late already. What has happend ?? He will come up this way to her house and she throws a glance at the way … full of hope.

This was the short storyboard and look, what she did with it . Do you feel she did well ?? I say YES. And she got a bright, positive feedback on her work. Again no tricks in this scene. The light from the window, diffused, just a light make-up and the hair in her typical way…
