And i said YES i can, when she asked me to make some pictures of her with the little dog in her arms. Oh, better think twice.
It started easy, the dog, female, on her arms looking into the camera as wanted. We all were happy, klick, one shot perfect,

when the madness suddenly started.

The dog had much fun.

I could hardly follow the action, laughing loud, motivating the dog

And somehow we managed that ! What a cute little dog, so much energy and fun !

And that dog was wonderful, without any storyboard :)

All done with Olympus E-5, ISO200, F4, 1/200 second and about 30 mm focal length. YES one single hot shoe flash again….

Often heard and it is NOT true. No excuse. Open your eyes. Do you have a pet ?? Yes ? And Whamm, there you have your model. A dog, a mouse, a hedgehog, a cat. Learn how they behave, how they move and how they react. Use it to set them into place. Observe them closely what they do and shoot, shoot, shoot. Do not flash into their eyes ! They do not like harsh light and will react with instant escape. Feed them, get them “acclimated” to the camera so they put together “Camera – Food ” and they will be perfect models for you

Even cats can work for you in such way. Cats, you know, not those with 2 legs…. :) This one shown above is a terrible fighter and the 1000% feared monster tomcat nearby but when he sees my camera he starts being friendly, purring, waiting for tasty food. It works :) The cats with 2 legs need different things to get them purr :)

It is easier with a dog. I think they are more intelligent or just more hungry :) See the lovely LULU. We will never forget her …

Can you resist ?? It is just a candid of a young male whippet who tried to get attention from our young chinese crested lady. But she just ignored him. Such is life….

A puppy-dog

It is pure 100% fun working with a puppy-dog which is interested in everything and erveryone ! This little chinese crested Lady, agile and full of power, just 3 months old brought fun and speed to me. You can perhaps imagine how much emotions this little energy pack brought into the studio. “Uhhh, sooo cute ” “What a sweeeeeeet little baby” All the Ladies hugging and kissing this little black princess who enjoyed the attention while loosing fluids :)

So the little dog spiced up our monotone photographic work a bit :) I think its time to do a puppy dog shooting …

Tip: You need to be fast and you need to have some food for the dog to get its attention. They do everything for food. Food is life ! And do not flash directly into their eyes !
