Did you ever watch Star Trek Voyager ?? Remember the stunning Seven of Nine ?? The Borg drone rescued and again mad “human” with a rest of Borg technology still implanted ?
Well here is my interpretation. I call it “Second Of Five”. Sounds ok, Have fun with the new movie poster.

Oh, again the Olympus E-M1 did that job together with the miraculous Metz speed lights …

Mother Nature or The birth of a Universe

As i told before: Be creative, be inspired. It is a simple and easy process to think about a picture. You may use the classic painters as source for your own inspirations or your very personal phantasy, dreams or emotions for expressional work. This one here, derives from an idea i had in the evening, while watching TV :) What a lousy TV show it was. But that gave me room to develop this idea. Next morning i realized it. Do you like such ??

The Picture is done in the same simple way than ever: Olympus EM-1 + M.Zuiko 12-40, one spelling Metz 58 in M mode, cam in M mode as well.

Which to take ?

It is always a question of taste. Is it better to do it in color or in b&W ?? What do you prefer ?
See an example in color and in b&W. Would like to hear from you which fits better.

What a boring lazy day it was. No tasks at all. Cleaning up the hard drives, clean the Mac. Archive some data, do paperworks, when i found the little bear, those fingers and feathers from older times. Done while collecting details for composings. Opening Photoshop, playing around with the parts, arranging them, let the fingers do what they want and suddenly: Galactic heroes was done. Surprised by the result with a smile on the face.

She said: they look soooo sweet. V = Victory

A portrait must be as natural as possible. A portrait should reflect the personality of the person. Hmmm and what if the portrait should show what the photographer had seen in that moment ? Not his emotion but what he thought his model was feeling. Reflecting that assumed emotional layer ? Too complicated ? Oh no. Its a thing of feeling. As i said in older threads, a picture with the “Boom Boom” effect has something to do with emotions, emotional layers established between photographer and subject. And has a lot of living emotions itself based on posing, scenes or other attributes. Depends as well on the distance you had to your subject, whether you were far away out of the scene or just within or close up. When going into a subjects surrounding, into his nearest distance, you hear breath, may taste hair, smell the subject. No question if you like it or not. You are in the scene, you are part of it. And now show us how this can have an impact on your photo.

Thats what led me to above emotional picture i call “Red Heart”. It is easy. Its all about feeling. Feeling do have colors. Love is red, anger red also and sometimes green. Warmth is yellow, light is white, sun is glow and has yellow near golden touch. Try to remember your raw material. See the portrait and remember. That is the way and the key to such composings. Yes. Only with composing complex enough its possible to express that situation you have been in. Give it a try. It will lead you to most expressive, heavy loaded pictures with that “boom Boom” effect. Pictures which will lead to stunning results and open mouths.

Ready. I am coming. Where are you ? Give me a tone ! This is the search for God, for the divine light as well. God is just around the corner and the divine light already on your back. Feel the light, turn around to experience the unexpected. No, this is not a religious tour. This is an example how to visualize things thru a photography. You cannot do it in one shot only but in severals. The trick is to compose your idea, your vision thru post processing software. Sounds easy but it isn´t. Your first tries will be of terrible quality but try another, read articels and try, try, try. You will see, your composings will become better and better. Give it a try, it is fun as well.

All girls want to be like an angel…. :) But some really are ! So show it. Sometimes it is the angel of revenge, sometimes the angel with a needle, ready to attack. Just smiling but the needle is in her hand …

and suddenly she hides her wings behind her, fixing you with her tight view and is aiming at you. Look out !

Where her heart belongs…. A starchild. No further explanation needed. The stars are hers to see, to reach, to go….. So i made it a bit more reality

Unexpected …

Do the unexpected. Come over with a surprise. It is so easy. We often had the situation to take some portraits. And we all know how that works. Some are good some not, so what move on. Shoot more. After the session you will work thru 200 – 300 or even more pictures and you dont feel that good. Some were good, okay, but lots of pictures will show closed eyes, blur, missed focus or other failures. Some were indeed okay but do not have the wanted expression. Portaits often have to be nice looking !! ( shiver …. ) And you will deliver those. But what will happen when you take a not so nice looking picture ?

It will often be a surprise, a positive surprise ! First you have to invest a little work. Look at the selected pictures, think how they could work and what is needed that they can work. Often it is only a small effort to do “Arts” to produce pictures that produce the “Ahhhhhh” effect. Composing is one trick to pimp a picture into specific directions or do cut outs, black & white or choose a specific cut to create dynamic pictures with unusual look. That is the clue. DO the unexpected, deliver a probe of YOUR understanding what a good picture is. This will be a wonderful chance to show expertise, skill and will in return pays a lot back and it strengthens the “emotional layer” to your model, to your customers as well.
