Sad angel

Although fully equipped with everything she need for her job as an angel, she is indeed looking sad. Perhaps her emotions regarding her next job ?? What is the valid reason for her sadness ? What is her next job ? What to do releasing such emotions ? And, will she execute the job ??

And thats the point: A story in a picture. If something is happening in your head while looking at a picture, than the pictures works… Its is up to YOU producing speaking pictures. Those are the pictures which will be looked at all the time even years later.

Window light

Window light is a wonderful light to show moods, emotion. In this case it was the perfect chance for illuminating her longing, her waiting and searching for him to arrive.

Again the Olympus E-M1 didi the job, only window light. No modifier used

Bubble bath

Don’t be shy. Even when she is sitting in the bathtub, enjoying the bubble bath, it is YOU to follow her. Do not hurt her privacy but be close enough to compose a wonderful scene, see the veil on her head. A compressed crop gives emotions, centers the view and jumps into the eyes of the observer. But be discrete otherwise she will chase you with shower of ice cold water :)

Hey, did you ever spend a minute to think what had happened to your sweet little brown bear ? You remember ? This brown and sweet bear you loved so much when you were a kid. The little bear with that strange little button in its ear ! From STEIFF. Give it a moment and find out where it is. If you cannot find that brown thing, well, gone its way thru the universe

as shown here. What a pity, what a shame. Go have a look and find that little toy. Enjoy that emotions and try to catch the emotion within a picture.

Red heart

A portrait must be as natural as possible. A portrait should reflect the personality of the person. Hmmm and what if the portrait should show what the photographer had seen in that moment ? Not his emotion but what he thought his model was feeling. Reflecting that assumed emotional layer ? Too complicated ? Oh no. Its a thing of feeling. As i said in older threads, a picture with the “Boom Boom” effect has something to do with emotions, emotional layers established between photographer and subject. And has a lot of living emotions itself based on posing, scenes or other attributes. Depends as well on the distance you had to your subject, whether you were far away out of the scene or just within or close up. When going into a subjects surrounding, into his nearest distance, you hear breath, may taste hair, smell the subject. No question if you like it or not. You are in the scene, you are part of it. And now show us how this can have an impact on your photo.

Thats what led me to above emotional picture i call “Red Heart”. It is easy. Its all about feeling. Feeling do have colors. Love is red, anger red also and sometimes green. Warmth is yellow, light is white, sun is glow and has yellow near golden touch. Try to remember your raw material. See the portrait and remember. That is the way and the key to such composings. Yes. Only with composing complex enough its possible to express that situation you have been in. Give it a try. It will lead you to most expressive, heavy loaded pictures with that “boom Boom” effect. Pictures which will lead to stunning results and open mouths.

Dance with me in this hot, golden light of beginning dusk. Touch the sky, feel the emotion, feel the power. Thats what this tree tells. And you would be foul not hearing what it says. So sit down, watch the gentle move f its leaves in th golden light of beginning dusk, the late afternoon, see its arms reaching for the sky, touching heaven, embracing the sky, connecting Mother Earth and Father heaven. Embrace it and dance with the tree…establish an emotional layer between you and the tree. Let it work.

Sitting in between all this mighty old Olive trees, smelling them, touching their skin, that is the moment, that is the place where the dream begins, where emotions start jumping thru your body, the moment when meditation starts. Giving ideas, feeding your brain with visions, with creations. That is the moment when you start to see the scenery thru your heart. Press the button, let the emotions go, they will lead you to a wonderful experience. … just a second

The decision to take a picture or not is often a question of a second. Not driven by rational thinking but done by emotional things. The base on which your finger decides to press the shutter is a feeling not a thought. As in this picture. The only thing i did was talking with the model, joking, adjusting the cam for the next scene and she, just girl, playing around with the given veils and fabrics. The decision to press the button, to shoot the scene, i think, was driven by her facial expression within a second, and thru the way she looked thru the veil. So what… i took the scene to photographic memory :)
