This is fun but it is dangerous and you should not do this as the driver. As co-driver it is Okay and delivers as much fun but with less risk…

Always remember: Not the driver do the pictures please !!

Now one or two words on the the “How to do “. First set your camera to its lowest ISO, Dial in a medium aperture ( mostly 5.6 ) to achieve an exposure time of 3 to 5 seconds. Disable OIS, IBIS, Anti Shake or how it is named in your camera. Choose the focal length. Short lengths are not working sooo good because of the hard to see camera shake we want to produce. Disable flash. Now frame your picture with ONE hand, press the shutter and allow the Hand-Camera-System to move a bit :) That is all about it. Have fun…

Unexpected …

Do the unexpected. Come over with a surprise. It is so easy. We often had the situation to take some portraits. And we all know how that works. Some are good some not, so what move on. Shoot more. After the session you will work thru 200 – 300 or even more pictures and you dont feel that good. Some were good, okay, but lots of pictures will show closed eyes, blur, missed focus or other failures. Some were indeed okay but do not have the wanted expression. Portaits often have to be nice looking !! ( shiver …. ) And you will deliver those. But what will happen when you take a not so nice looking picture ?

It will often be a surprise, a positive surprise ! First you have to invest a little work. Look at the selected pictures, think how they could work and what is needed that they can work. Often it is only a small effort to do “Arts” to produce pictures that produce the “Ahhhhhh” effect. Composing is one trick to pimp a picture into specific directions or do cut outs, black & white or choose a specific cut to create dynamic pictures with unusual look. That is the clue. DO the unexpected, deliver a probe of YOUR understanding what a good picture is. This will be a wonderful chance to show expertise, skill and will in return pays a lot back and it strengthens the “emotional layer” to your model, to your customers as well.

Bubble universe

Inspired by a toy, children like to play with, the bubblesword. Hundreds of small, medium and large bubbles from soap water flooding your home. What a joy to watch them in so beautiful rainbow colors. But are we as adults living in such a world ? Made of bubbles ?? Arranging them, moving them gently from here to there and suddenly they BURST. Is that how dreams come true and ends ?? Often but not always.

That is the reason for this picture and again without emotional layer it would be only plain colors.

Another one from my tools series. Let it work ! And hear into yourself. What is your first feeling, your first emotion ??? Umpf, no my dear, no play today….. so was mine ! And i checked carefully whether all parts of me were still in position :)

Bang. That was the intention. And we put several things together: love, feeling, erotic, female attraction. Combined it with a short story speaking by itself ( see the side cutter ), the tool and a bit of dark humor. She will cut you, cut away some things… no she is not the sister of Hannibal Lecter :) It is just fun. And we had fun. Based on trust we created this little One-Picture-Story. For YOU, that YOU have fun.

Details: Olympus E-5 + Zuiko 50-200SWD, ISO200, 1/25 second, f4, 76 mm focal length and only one hotshoe strobe bounced over my shoulder into a white reflector with a Zebra structure. No further tricks. You can easily do it at home too.

Drive me thru the universe. No, this is not “The Hitchhiker´s Guide to the Galaxy” although it might look a bit like it. :) And no, i am not Ford Perfect or Arthur Dent traveling with the “Heart of Gold”. But Stars, Galaxies and Universe gave an inspiration and my preferred model did their part as well… So this is another outcome regarding to “Do the unexpected”. Some words on the history: I had the luck traveling with another Lady in her car thru the morning travel. She gave me no chance for a real shooting so i used the opportuniy to do some “lucky shots” in the car sitting on the backseat. One was thru the front window with part of her face in the rear mirror. Funshots, you know.

But combined with a view from the “Command Bridge of the Heart of Gold” with the view in the open space it would be great. Traveling with that Starship full of wonder, to be in a million different Galaxies at the same time, possible with the “Heart of Gold”, what a sweet idea. So this was my taxi ride thru the universe to the shiny stars…. I enjoyed the making of and she likes the picture as well. So do your own and have fun.
