Window light is a wonderful light to show moods, emotion. In this case it was the perfect chance for illuminating her longing, her waiting and searching for him to arrive.

Give me a simple look. That is the idea behind this portrait. Simple approach, direct and straight. Spiced it up with a little post precessing, adding the Sepia-Look. And it is the answer on the question whether the “Dark Series” can have color as well. Yes it can. As you may see here a s a proof. Now have fun and enjoy.

After her performance, exhausted, she sat down, feeling the warm sunlight on her back, just relaxing a bit. Regenerating for the next performance. Yes it is as it is. Your model has a break, you never ! It is you to catch the moment.

It is your task as photographer, as observer as well to watch the scenes, to decide whether to take a picture even while a break. Olympus cam used as always.

When sport is over …

Doing outdoor activities is a real joy and fun as well. Yes, it is in some case exhausting too but we all know that any kind of activity is good for you well being, good for health, good for your shape, good for your body. Our model knows that as well and so she is doing outdoor actives as well. And she likes it more and more. Okay, i like that as well. Frehs air gives new ideas, helps creativity. And while being outdoor you can see so much details of mother nature which are often unseen, undetectable when driving by car or bus. And it is a joy watching the model coming back from her activities, still running, moving, exhausted, breathing, sweat all over the T-Shirt. Ups, which T-Shirt ? She just opened her Softshell Jacket showing nothing but her naked body underneath. I took the chance to speed test my cam… :)

After done so, i named it “When sport is over …” but she laughed at me, smiling, answered “No, its Dessert”.

… mirror …

“More left, no better right, bend a bit, stretch more, take the hand to the left, bow, smile, no not such ….”, boy. Posing is a hard job and i found it is not possible or hard to realize by words. It is better to act as her mirror and to show how she has to pose, what to show. It is way faster and easy and offers a lot of fun too. Suddenly you entertain your model :) Not a bad idea at all! But shown facial expressions may result in surprising results and that means you have to be alerted, have your finger ready to push the button on you cam.

I did it exactly that way and you see what i got. Just a fraction of a second later, the expression was gone, the scene lost and she laughed out loud… so what… i had my picture and we had fun.

What a difference …

What a difference a jacket makes. A simple thing. Easy. Ask for her winterjacket, ask her to use it on her skin and ask for slightly opened zipper.

Such wonderful view, a modified boys view. Thats what the Boom Boom effect is about. Such pictures are only possible with established emotional layer, with trust ! To give a special touch, a special look i added some secret juice to it. Addition layer, converted to B&W, added grain to it and set the opacity to about 85%…. easy. You can do such as well with your GIMP or similar PP software. Try it !

You can never be too close. Not with a working emotional layer. But what can happen is a spontaneously change of the storyboard, From close to show. Girls always want to be attractive and want to show how attractive they are. You as their photographer are the mirror they try out their poses with, their expressions even some erotic things.

So just let them do. Don´t forget the pictures. We want to see some.

Fur

It is said that diamonds are a girls best friend. And yes, that might be true. But is it affordable for us ?? For a shooting ?? Don´t think so. But as far as i know girls like FUR as well and here we have enough material to work with. No, not the neighbors cat around the neck… way too risky. She could kill the cat while bending it around the tack :) Well a simple fur of a winter jacket will do the job very well.

I gave one of this jackets to her and you can see what she had done with it. She created an instant storyboard and executed the selfmade hide away story. I like that much and did the shoots without any instructions.

To give structure to the fur keep the light coming from the side and above. It adds great structures to her face too. Keep the focus to her nearest eye !!!

All shots done with Olympus E-5, Zuiko 12-60 SWD, 1/60 second, f3.2 and one single flash bounced to my left and over my shoulder into a white reflector…

Help needed

He woke up in the early morning. A strange noise was the reason. It was dark outside and he could hear this noise again. Bang Bang. Someone was knocking at his door. His bedroom was upstairs and he decided to NOT go down but to look out of his window first to see who was so bold to nearly crash his door. So he opend the little bedroom window and what did he see ? Oh what a sweet surpise what his eyes could see. It was SHE, Mrs. Robinson stood in front of his door, looking up to him, so sweet. And his ears could hear:

“Hey Sir, my car crashed down, i think it is the battery. It did not start, this fxxxxxx thing. Can you help ?? Would you be so kind to help me, i have to reach my office in time !” His throat went dry, his heart went up to 300 beats and he said: “Yes Mam, for sure, just wait a second !” Her ran down opened the door stepped thru and stood where she stood just a second ago. But she was away, vansihed …. Suddenly he heard a klicking noise behind him. Oh no, the door was closed automatically and he forgot to take the keys with him. And now he recognized that is was cold, about 0°C and he has nothing on but a pyjama, thin slippers and the first snow started falling on him …. He was so angry about himself, registering now that Mrs. Robinson never had a car. She always used the bus !!! What a silly fool he was. Now it was up to him to break his front door :)

Sweet revenge….

Details: Olympus E-5, Summilux 25 mm, F1.4, 1/60 second, ISO200 and again the famous single hotshoe flash bounced slightly behind and over my left shoulder into a white reflector.
