Ups, i was asked how i managed it to get Scarlett Johansson in front of my cam. Well, i laughed out loud but Yes, there is a similar look. And Yes Sandra is a beautiful and stunning looking girl. But she is not Scarlett… she is Sandra, a woman with a colorful personality and a creative spirit.

Ever had the situation that after inspecting your photos from the last session over and over again and suddenly you discover one picture which was always overseen ?? That´s what happened here. Always thought, nag, she is too tall, way to imposant, way too blond, way too sexy, way too… what so ever.

But with a bit of curves and a bit of tweaking, here is the result of a blond amazon. Enjoy

And i never asked her to lift the veil. Did you ever recognized that a woman only hardly covered with fabrics looks even more sexy than a complete nude one ? Do not forget the hair make up, her pose, her hands and her lovely smile. It is because your own imagination, your own phantasy. The pictures established an emotional layer with YOU and it works …

Blue thoughts

While shooting is running there are moments of silence. Moments were something is going on and you cannot name it for sure, but you can see it. Like in this picture

As if she is asking herself questions. Am i pretty ? Am i beautiful and attractive enough ? Does HE like it the way i move, the way i behave, the way i present me as a person ? Those are unspoken questions which cannot be answered by words. Only your behavior as photographer can do that. When you stop working, you answer “NO!” to all her question but doing even more pictures, addressing thru your mimic that she is fantastic, this way you will earn even more such blue thought moments.

Just like this above is a result of a positive photographers reaction. And she asked: “Really ? ” I gave her a smile instead of words…. That the way the emotional layer works.

Thats what i asked for and now see what she gave me back. That is a soft smile. You can see in her eyes that something is going on in her mind. Her smile is intensive and soft and she knows how to play with her smile, her lips, her hair. Enjoy

Enjoy them, enjoy what you can do with a portrait. Starting point is always a classic portrait with all the stuff you already know. The make up, the tricky hairdressing, the wardrobe, the pose, the facial expression and all this little things need to compose an attractive portrait. Do not forget earrings, necklaces and such stuff girls always love.

After this is all done you can start the second part of the job. Cut her free from the background, layer it, compose the mood you have in mind. Add some other things to the layers for adjusting. This is something which need some experience. You should already know what a layer is and how a mask is working. Otherwise you will fail. But here, it was fun, fun and again fun.

You know, i do have an outer space contact called “Daidiri! who is an Annunaki Princess and she is of a special kind. She suddenly appeared while our shooting with Sandra was ongoing and Daidiri was, hmmm let´s say, a bit angry. She wanted to be in the set as well, with the same costume. Well, Sandra and i looked at each other and we agreed. In a a second Daidiri was prepared. She is a wonder. Dressed up in a second.

And look how she did it. I printed the picture and she was again very happy and in a second she disappeared, leaving us and the costume behind her. Well, a satisfied princess may save lives .. one never knows. It is always good having friends.

Be creative, get closer, have the emotional layer established. Do you remember ?? Everything is true in this picture. Without emotional layer there would have been no trust at all and the picture would have never been taken. And i could get closer to her, very close. So close i could smell her skin, smell the odor of her fantastic blond hair and we got creative with a scarf. Wrapping her blond hair in that way costs a lot of time and my fingers are still working :). The rest was easy. A bit of light, a camera and a lens. You know, i like the simple approach to get the results i have in my head.

Again you can see a single light flash with softball and a reflector from the other side, filling the shadows. And again a simple setup. No tricks Everything, flash and cam were set to M Mode. Do not trust TTL. It will give no constant light from shoot to shoot. But M mode does.
By the way, a breathtaking girl, Sandra, the new face. A wonderful woman, a wonderful soul…
