A portrait must be as natural as possible. A portrait should reflect the personality of the person. Hmmm and what if the portrait should show what the photographer had seen in that moment ? Not his emotion but what he thought his model was feeling. Reflecting that assumed emotional layer ? Too complicated ? Oh no. Its a thing of feeling. As i said in older threads, a picture with the “Boom Boom” effect has something to do with emotions, emotional layers established between photographer and subject. And has a lot of living emotions itself based on posing, scenes or other attributes. Depends as well on the distance you had to your subject, whether you were far away out of the scene or just within or close up. When going into a subjects surrounding, into his nearest distance, you hear breath, may taste hair, smell the subject. No question if you like it or not. You are in the scene, you are part of it. And now show us how this can have an impact on your photo.

Thats what led me to above emotional picture i call “Red Heart”. It is easy. Its all about feeling. Feeling do have colors. Love is red, anger red also and sometimes green. Warmth is yellow, light is white, sun is glow and has yellow near golden touch. Try to remember your raw material. See the portrait and remember. That is the way and the key to such composings. Yes. Only with composing complex enough its possible to express that situation you have been in. Give it a try. It will lead you to most expressive, heavy loaded pictures with that “boom Boom” effect. Pictures which will lead to stunning results and open mouths.

And while our indian girl from Udaipur is playing around with the veils, with her silk, her shining jewelry behind her occours a starnge action. While the music plays, the singers and the indian rythmic of music she moved more and more to this tones. Moving her body, her feet to the moving, not recognizing that Parvati is going to dance behind her. Powerful and full of energy. She is going to tke over the spirit of our indian girl, no, it is different, Parvatis soul penetrates the body of that Udaipurs girl, overtake her soul. Leading her to dance, to enjoy even life and feel the love of Shiva.

New day

After all, the new day arrived. Sitting on her bed, looking at him, full of love and aspiration the young morning sun came thruogh her windows. Gently touching her back, warm and intense, surrounding her with a golden touch. He looked into her eyes, blinded by her beauty, her golden glow. That was what he missed so long while out in the bloody fields of war.

That was her words, when her husband, the Samurai, entered the house, entered her room. A smile on his face, answered from her with a sight of demand, a sign of pure temptation. Still on her bed, still her Tanto in her hands but ready to put it down for her man. And he, coming home, without a word, bowing over her, throughing a gentle kiss onto her face. The rest is your imagination, dear reader….

It is OK

Now it is okay. The samurai´s wife cleaned the house. She removed all the blood from the ground, from the walls, renewed destroyed paperdoors and decorated the rooms totaly new. Nothing should tell him the bloody slaughter story. Even her tanto was resharpened and all marks of blood or marks from other blades were 100% removed. Nothing, really nothing, no detail will ever tell him what had happened, what his wife did to thoes men who so savagely attacked her in their house. Even the bodies were carefully disposed.

So she sits on her bed, waiting for her husband to enter the room. She is ready for him, smiling but armed as ever. Ready to embrace him with her arms, those deadly arms, but now giving love to the man she loves…

After we all have recalibrate our eyes, our brain, our perception we are open to rediscover the beauty of girls….

And we can accept them as a gift from other stars. That is what all girls like. They are GODDESS. We as male as “Non Gods” have to accept that, to live with it. I can do that easily. Be the little universe in her hands…. And i show it to my model as well which is a delight for her and is in return a mighty piece in the puzzle “emotional layer” again.

Don´t forget the magical words. Never, what we are doing is fun and hard work. And it is hard work, very hard work for your model too. When everything is done, do not forget to say “Thank you for your great work !” Do not say it as a phrase, thrown away like a dirty towel. But be honest, say it with passion, it is part of your emotional layer. Your honest, emotional words a worth more than pure money !

See the impact of such words in her face. Even exhausted but happy…

Invisible

It happens nearly all the time, that things are done invisible to others. Small acts, gestures, movements not recognized. It is worth looking close. Look ! Look what your model is doing while not being photographed. See all the funny things she is doing while not in your focus, unobserved. Try to catch such moments of unbelievable beauty.

You will never regret. And again it is an easy setup for this picture. Olympus E-5, ISO100, f4.5, 1/30 second to let the roomlight register, one single hotshoe flash bounced to my left into one white reflector a bit behind her.
