Back home from a trip full of impressions and tons of new pictures. Exhausted, tired. Taking the last steps from the car into the house. The camera bag over the shoulder. Happy to be home again. But suddenly a colored spot. Small and to my right. I decided to stop and to look a bit closer. A snail, a very small one. About 1.5 cm long slides beside my way. Okay, i think, here comes the macro. Just threw the M.Zuiko 60 onto my E-M1 and snapped the pictures right away. Exhausted or not…

Arg, it should be a focus stack but that damned snail is moving, slow but fast enough to prevent a stack. I tried different apertures and their effects on sharpness and bokeh. Well here you see the little guy with f2.8 and a wonderful creamy bokeh

Yeah, i found it while walking thru the wet grass, to be honest, i found it while walking the dog thru the wet grass. And i decided to jump back into the house, taking the OMD with the fabulous 60mm macro and a tripod. The dog looked a bitt irritated, inspected the tripod and judged it friendly stuff. I mounted the cam overhead and took this little mushroom home as RAW. So, look down to your feet. There are a lot of things to capture, even when it rains …

A fast yellow snapshot with the very brand new camera. The Olympus E-M1 with an Sigma 150 Macro lens, connected thru Panasonic DMW-MA1. It is a joy to work with. Never thought that my old Sigma lens can be such accurate and fast. Its performance is better than on my good old E-5.

Down onto your knees and even lower. Use the articulated screen of your camera or look thru the plugin-EVF tilted upwards and discover the world of macro. See it. See them, those little insects crawling on the bloom. The highwaymen :) Ah, you should use your macro lens as well.

Walking the dog in the rain, is not the best time of the day. But while playing with the wet dog in the rain one can see surprising things. So i recognized mushrooms on the lawn. Wow, what an intense red…. with the dog , already tired, hurrying back home, just catchin my Oly cam with ne M.Zuiko 60 mm macro lens on it and here we are again. Still raining and what ever i did, no, the angle to that small red one mushroom was bad. So what to do ? Right. Down into the wet grass. Lying in the grass, the rain on my back, the wet grass from underneath….. what else could i wish ?? But the angle was ok now. So i took my shoots …and i hope i got it right !
