A stunning dance performance in the deep night, performed while a local party in the small village of Palma, Sicily. It was bad light, high speed dance movements but E-M1 caught the moments.

So trust your cam and try it yourself. You will be surprised of the result

Dresden

It is worth a travel. Go and see Dresden in these days. It is full of wonderful and surprising buildings. Full of people, full of fairies. Stollen and Glühwein and if you like a Bratwurst as well :) And please stay until the night crawls in. You can see the famous church illuminated like this.

And suddenly the sky exploded. Firework and lasershow melting together into one gigantic play of light and living colors. A stunning event in the cold night. But worth seeing. If you can join the next year it will be again on the same location on the beach, 29. March 2014. See you there

The Dragon is alive

And the Dragon is alive and dancing in the night with fire and sparkles all over the dark sky. The crackling sound of its fire, the smell and the thunder is all over us in the dark. We stand still, deeply impressed, watching the dance of the Dragon. That was the grand opening of the “Umweltfotofestival in Zingst” The lightdance of elements. A fantastic laser and firework show in the night with about -20°C on the frozen beach. It was an outstanding experience.

Berlin – a Night view

Visiting Berlin is always a joy. From everywhere you can see fantastic scenes, situations and if you are willing to take some steps on the stairway you may have an excellent view over Berlin even at night. See my sample.

Yes it is done with a touch of sepia and color as well, no it is not color key. It is a different but easy way of PP.

It is said, that at night all that cats are gray and so will be all your pictures taken in the night ? Really ? NO! Just see the colors in the night, they are indeed a bit different but still there.

It is always dark i the night, one need to work with flash, one cannot see anything, need a tripod- Alway an excuse ready to do no shootings in the night ?! Take your cam and try it before discussion. Do not fear high ISO or longer shutterspeed. Modern cam have very good high ISO performance and some have excellent working IS or O.I.S. or however thy call it. Give it a try

Searching

Last night he built up his camera configuration to catch the moon again. But what a shame, it was not possible to see the moon. Many reasons for that. One of it was CLOUDS. Big fat grey clouds closed the sky so no light came thru, no blinking stars and no bright moon visible. I see what is in your mind… :) But the neighbor was again activ. Watching her from the window it looked like she trained for a model job, doing poses.

He was lucky and bold enough to catch again one scene with her. Boy that looked as if she could see him, as if she did this pose just for him. Teasing him…. Did she see him ??

For sure she did ! In real life she was just a few centimeters away. And she played her storyboard very good ! We had fun fun fun and laughed a lot. You want some details again ? No problem.

Olympus E-5 + Sigma 50 mm, f2, ISO 200, 1/80 second. One single hotshoe flash fired and bounced to my left against the window to get diffused “window light” on her face. No tricks just standards.
