Here is another one from the series. It combines the “Dark Series” technique with portrait style and indian tribal attributes. It give a different touch, a different atmosphere to the picture. And again i have to say: It is easy to produce such scenes. It is just one single strobe, off camera and placed left to me, working thru a small soft box. The B&W conversion is done in post processing.

Well, you have everything you need for such pictures already in your bag. A camera, a flash, a 50 mm or equivalent lens. A bit of jewelry, stands, a veil and a model willing to pose for you. So, what can stop you ?? Nothing. Place her on the sofa, wrap her into the veil and put the jewelry on her. Have a light to her side and start working. It is that easy. A bit of post processing is needed afterwards. But that is different thing to be discussed later.

Nebula Queen

And she said: “Now to the fun stuff..!” You read it already in the last post. And she had really fun. Off with the clothes ( thats fun for us man :) ) and on with the new fun veils. My only job was to follow her with the cam, when she suddenly sat down, put a veil over her head and put this sentimental look on and said: “Homesick”. No question, i took it as all the other situations on this last session. It was fun, indeed. I added as she wished so, a bit fairy dust and this and that. Result: She likes it !

It was late, the sun went down and it was still terrible hot, about 40°C. But such beautiful Olivetrees were worth a walk up the dry and dusty hill. On the top i saw here: The Olivetree-Queen, gently touched and kissed by the last red-gold light of the warm sun. It was an outstanding moment.

Sleeping Queen

“Silent, be quiet… she is sleeping ! You may just have ONE try, only 1 shot, so do it exactly. The shutternoise will wake her up. So compose exactly. You know what i mean!”

His words in mind he took exactly one shot of his Mrs. Robinson. And she did not move a bit. Her sleep must be very deep. Silent and slow, as they came in, they left her home, grinning, having one fantastic shot she did not know anything about…

But he could not resist. Standing in the door her turned again to her, with his telelens mounted he saw her breast , could see how breathing moved her womans pride softly up and down… klick

She did not notice them, had some sweet dreams.

All done with: Olympus E-P3, Zuiko 45 mm, f1.8 ISO400, 1/30 second. So be radical. Develop with massiv b&w contrast even embrace and welcome the grain from noise, add mor grain and emphasize it thru sharpening. Enjoy ART !
