Dark rose

Just two roses, placed on the desk ?? No ! I took the picture in the garden while searching little creatures like spider, bugs etc. Long time forgotten to work on this but while creating d´the “Dark Series” it came avon to my mind and i did a b&w conversion to achieve the dark look here as well. Looks great in large print.

A new lens in the bag. 17 mm f1.8 for Olympus mFT system. That means 34 mm f1.8 in 24×36 mm sensor size….. sounds good. And YES it is more than good. It is excellent. I tried it in a portrait shooting session. Oh, i know, wide angle lenses should not be used in portrait situations but i thought its worth a try. I was surprised from the results. Superb speed, excellent resolution and sharpness. Way too sharp for portraits. I decided to work it out in CSx and soften it a bit, convert it even into a strong B&W pictures. And here it is:

Nature is full of colors and surprise. Strolling thru the green grass thru the bushes and suddenly it is there: The surprise, a yellow rose in all its color, its beauty and its pride. No chance, i had to take a picture of such attractive beauty. At home i decided to combine the bare rose with a feather and some green background structure, giving a vintage look to the complete scene. And ready it is:

A dead bloom, a dry flower offers so much beauty. Take you makro lens, or switch your P&S cam to makro mode and go clooooooose. Look what nature has prepared for you. Stunning beauties, elegance and grace in one flower combined. Here it works with a dry rose but any flower can work for you and you picture as well. It is for eternity and if you want it is a wonderful picture for the wall, printed on canvas, or a fantastic background for a wonderful soft portrait. Be inspired

As summer goes bye we see how plants and blooms change. They reach their end of life as well and it is worth having a close look to them. In particular the wild red roses of any kind are worth a look. Already touched by the death it is a good idea placing them in a fitting color scheme

Samurai´s rose

The rose of his life is his wife. And she knows very well how to protect herself when he, the samurai, is not in the house to protect her with his sword, his life.

She knows how to handle such things. If anyone tries nasty things, just keep in mind: She can´t take a joke in case of her home, her family her kids ….

Put it together

Okay, so you have a flower-picture and a picture of an old rusty door ?? Both boring, dull, nothing special. Correct. But did you ever thought to put them together ??Yes, to blend them ??? All you need is a layer capable software, Photoshop, The Gimp etc. can do such job easily. Just load both pictures and copy one of them into the other as extra layer. The top layered picture will cover the other picture 100% so you have to do something ! Install a mask to the toplayer and paint with black color some “holes” into it, let the bottom layer shine thru. Change the opacity, the transparency of the toplayer to your taste and you will see how it works…

BTW: Such is a wonderful present, if printed on Fine Art paper and framed professional !

Hidden beauty

While looking through the garden and watching roses she asked to have a picture of her combined with the beauty of a red rose in form of a soft toned compostion. As i always tell you i have to do the same.: respect the wishes and try to realize them. It will give me the opportunity to shoot more attractive pictures with an impact, gives more material even for your eyes and gives her deep satisfication. So what ?? It is just a bit of work and here it is already:

The hidden beauty. A red rose, her beauty and both in combination with a blending technique to give it a special look. It was a “bulls eye” a direct hit! Her girlfriends got envious and that made her proud. Now it is printed and presented on her wall of fame :) I like such ideas :) It is good for my reputation and if YOU do it as well it will even work for your reputation ! So do it. Believe me, it is easy. But you have to do this on some fundamental rules and such derives from the emotional layer, from trust and relation.

One wish …

After such good work i offered her one wish for free. She asked for some flower pictures. Ups… i am not a good flower portrait guy, but the wish should always be fulfilled. So i did it and put some shots from roses to her desk from her garden.

This one is her fav rose in the garden. So colorfull and intensiv, yes i like the colors too. But i thought the next one is beautiful as well, although i named it always “buggy”.

But see yourself and judge. So full of life :). But what can be the counterpart to such a lot of beauty ?? Easy, i found it in the same garden and it is always the same game, it is part of life, the dead flower.

They are not really dead, just the bloom is worn out :) We will see it again in next spring. Like in real life. Did you notice what happend ??? Even taking pictures of flowers, under the impressions of the past photoshooting the emotional layer was still working. She took her inner wish on the desk and i respected it, fulfilled it. This is an additional strength to the already existing layer. Do so as well. Offer a wish for free, fulfill it without hesitations or discussions. Try to find the emotion in the fulfilling of her wish as well and you get back 1000 opportunities for new pictures and scences. Ever heard of : “Sleeping Beauty” ? or Dornröschen ? Created from this walk thru the roses…. more to come…
