Just testing new equipment, a new parabola softbox, a new and fas lens. So i put two scarf together into the scene wrapped her in a quick and dirty way and took some snaps, varying the angel of shooting and the flash paramters to get an impression of the ligth rendering the new softbox will do.

And YES i am really satisfied with the results. Lens and softbox did a stunning job. Oh, yes, sorry, she did it it also …

Ups, i was asked how i managed it to get Scarlett Johansson in front of my cam. Well, i laughed out loud but Yes, there is a similar look. And Yes Sandra is a beautiful and stunning looking girl. But she is not Scarlett… she is Sandra, a woman with a colorful personality and a creative spirit.

Enjoy them, enjoy what you can do with a portrait. Starting point is always a classic portrait with all the stuff you already know. The make up, the tricky hairdressing, the wardrobe, the pose, the facial expression and all this little things need to compose an attractive portrait. Do not forget earrings, necklaces and such stuff girls always love.

After this is all done you can start the second part of the job. Cut her free from the background, layer it, compose the mood you have in mind. Add some other things to the layers for adjusting. This is something which need some experience. You should already know what a layer is and how a mask is working. Otherwise you will fail. But here, it was fun, fun and again fun.

Be creative, get closer, have the emotional layer established. Do you remember ?? Everything is true in this picture. Without emotional layer there would have been no trust at all and the picture would have never been taken. And i could get closer to her, very close. So close i could smell her skin, smell the odor of her fantastic blond hair and we got creative with a scarf. Wrapping her blond hair in that way costs a lot of time and my fingers are still working :). The rest was easy. A bit of light, a camera and a lens. You know, i like the simple approach to get the results i have in my head.

And she lifted her scarf from her head and let it go down to wrap her neck, her shoulders. Her view went up to heaven, her eyes searching the clouds, when she unfolds her true character, unfolds her golden wings.

Hide

From wrapped to hide is just a small move, a gentle move with female elegance. Lift the veil and put it around the shoulders, use it as a scarf. Hide parts of the face but let the eyes be the center of the picture and throw a glimpse of a smile thru the scarf to the observer. Thats exactly what she did, the female way.

Snake

It was a bit difficult to arrange the scarf into the positions i wanted. And here you see the “Snake” form. She said it looked more like a dragon. But it made me near mad to get it into position. She laughed at me and with a snip and a snap of her hands she moved it into the perfect shape.

Go for Hipsta

Brush up your pictures. It doe not matter if they are RAW or JPG format. But give them a completely new look. Hipstamatic is Hip, is in, is everyones friend. So why do you hesitate converting one or two of your already made pictures to the new style ? It is easy. Just a play with curves :) The Gimp will do the job as well as Photoshop Express, Lightroom. All software which can do curves adjustments can produce the look. So give it a try.
