A stunning dance performance in the deep night, performed while a local party in the small village of Palma, Sicily. It was bad light, high speed dance movements but E-M1 caught the moments.

“Take a picture of us,” resounded from both throats. “Come on, do it, now” … so impatient, the two ladies, as the food was ready and the steaming pasta should finally on the table, the hungry predators lurking behind me. “Come on, get ready,” boomed it, in deep Sicilian dialect in my ears.

Said so and done and the pasta was incredibly good, despite 43 ° C outside temperature

Where the dream begins

Sitting in between all this mighty old Olive trees, smelling them, touching their skin, that is the moment, that is the place where the dream begins, where emotions start jumping thru your body, the moment when meditation starts. Giving ideas, feeding your brain with visions, with creations. That is the moment when you start to see the scenery thru your heart. Press the button, let the emotions go, they will lead you to a wonderful experience. So i took this picture, knowing, that it will be only a starting point for a new piece of art work for my Olivetree series. Feeling the soul of the trees, see they slow dance

It is always dark i the night, one need to work with flash, one cannot see anything, need a tripod- Alway an excuse ready to do no shootings in the night ?! Take your cam and try it before discussion. Do not fear high ISO or longer shutterspeed. Modern cam have very good high ISO performance and some have excellent working IS or O.I.S. or however thy call it. Give it a try

The Queen

It was late, the sun went down and it was still terrible hot, about 40°C. But such beautiful Olivetrees were worth a walk up the dry and dusty hill. On the top i saw here: The Olivetree-Queen, gently touched and kissed by the last red-gold light of the warm sun. It was an outstanding moment.

I was asked to show the saltmill from a different angle. No problem. Here it is, standing at the road, bathed in warm sunlight, glowing … okay a little PP helped ..

Taken on the Strada del Sale in Sicily. You should go there end of July or August, when they have plenty of natural salt piled along the road…

Ancient salt mills can be seen here as well and can be visited.
