I do what i say, nrmally. But in this case it is true. I said it is important to watch your models activities even when pausin. Keep your finger ready. And i did that as well. Always ready to push the button. Well now, sit was sitting in the dark corner on a chair, dreaming a bit while relaxing when she suddenly saw me, watching her thru the finder. Her eyes went up to me and i simply pushed the button, took that scene and smiled.

After studying the picture i decided to work it t out the way you can see it here. Hope you like it a bit… Let me know …

That is exactly the style she likes ! So why should i not do it this way ?? It is again a favor you can do for your preferred model.

And i learned another important detail: A JPG is just a JPG. Do a print. Not that small one but as big your printer can ! My printer can do DIN A3, which is 297 x 420 mm. Looks great on high end paper ! Borderless !

And suddenly he jumped into the dancing scene. It was like an earthquake. His performance was simply stunning. Me, still on my knees, simply firing shot after shot.

Inside an excessive dancing crowd with loud oriental music in my ears, impossible to hear anything else but this charismatic and inflaming exotic pipes and drums….

This was such a moment where i fully trusted my Oly-cameras, my Zuiko lenses and my trusty Metz flash. Full of sweat, exhausted, with a dry throat i was so happy when even the music band had a break for refreshments ….

From time to time i feel it a good idea to rescan older pictures, just to have a look, to check progress or if it could be done even better now with new ideas or techniques. Well and a wedding is almost a wonderful task with lots of picture, seen but never developed.

So this one had the chance to get an approval from the former bride. And this time it got it, with a big smile in her face :)

You see the smile ??? Both pictures were reworked a bit to get the analog film look.

I know it is morbid and strange. But the other side belongs to you and to me, so look at that side and see what it in ! Again a proof for TRUST and relation to and with your model.

What a difference a jacket makes. A simple thing. Easy. Ask for her winterjacket, ask her to use it on her skin and ask for slightly opened zipper.

Such wonderful view, a modified boys view. Thats what the Boom Boom effect is about. Such pictures are only possible with established emotional layer, with trust ! To give a special touch, a special look i added some secret juice to it. Addition layer, converted to B&W, added grain to it and set the opacity to about 85%…. easy. You can do such as well with your GIMP or similar PP software. Try it !

Convert me

Convert me ! Do not not misunderstand ! Make your pictures looking old fashioned is already old fashioned. But convert them to b&w and simulate the old grainy analog filmtypes. It is fun.

In this case shown above i converted into b&w thru my usual PP and cropped it a bit to get it a bit more compressed and to get her body into the lovely diagonal line. Nothing special here, just another proof for a working relation between model and photographer…. you know, the emotional layer and trust.

Watch her. Watch her all the time, watch her thru your viewfinder. Even when she is dressing, especially when she is dressing, try new clothes, veils etc. Such are wonderful moments for special candids. When you have an emotional layer full of trust otherwise she will give you some nice 5 fingers into your face :)

You have to do nothing. Just watch, Dressing, wrapping in veils, using jewelries are somehow natural given things for a woman, genetic programmed. Use this fact for your pictures. Just watch, no further addressing or guidance for her necessary…

And suddenlay she asked “more ?” And her hand showed what she was willing to do. That was a surprise at all. We planned to do a portrait shooting and suddenly it turned into a boudoir session. So what ? Should i say NO ?

Be prepared for the unexpected. I took my second light, the reflector and we did a fantastic boudoir shooting. As i could see she was already well prepared, dressed in fine lingerie and makeup. She even knew her poses and did very well. This was a wonderful example for a working emotional layer and trust …. do so too…
