It is a question of your point of view but it is always a decision You have to do: “Shoot or not ?” I say “Do not ask yourself too much. Take the picture and decide after the session with her which to take, which to trash”. You will be surprise of how different your both opinions can be. So, don’t hesitate, take the picture as i did. And this time i left it nearly as it came out of the cam. No further deep processing, no textures or complicated compositions…just as it is due to its natural impact.

No not really. Search for contact and search for intensive eye contact. That is the visible connection from the observer to the emotional layer hidden in the picture. So don’t be shy even if her look is really intensive. You have to stand this. This will build an intensive connection between observer and your work. Thats essential.

After the rain everything in Mother Natures garden look even more beautiful. Not only wet, but brighter, more colorful. The air is clear, no dust, no fog, just clear view. So take your cam, mount you macro and look the flowers… like i did !

That´s a question every girl, every woman in world ask again and again. Sometimes in front of a mirror sometimes they ask YOU and look out, giving the right answer is not only “Yes, baby, sure…” or “No baby but the neighbor..” It is the nature of woman to show herself attractive, sexy, worth to fight for. And what is a photographers work in this question? Easy. You are the mirror on the wall: “You are the most beautiful in the world” and your pictures have to proof that fact otherwise they will beat you…

In this special case i took a former published picture and brushed it up with a vintage look, added some slight color spots to achieve the final look. And ? Yes she likes it :)

Tight view

This is an example of a picture i took, right in between two sets, while she was arranging her stuff. Me, sitting on the ground, the cam ready for the work. She, foundling with veils and stuff asking questions about this and that. And while she spoke she arranged and moved and suddenly she looked at me exactly this way:

So, what i did ?? I took the chance and made my picture. It was just a movement, an impulse and i was happy about the fact that my Oly cam E-M5 is so damned fast in AF and shutter release. Now you can she her tight view as well. Have fun

Berlin – a Night view

Visiting Berlin is always a joy. From everywhere you can see fantastic scenes, situations and if you are willing to take some steps on the stairway you may have an excellent view over Berlin even at night. See my sample.

Yes it is done with a touch of sepia and color as well, no it is not color key. It is a different but easy way of PP.

A girls glance…

“Throw me an exciting glance …!” I better did not say that. She gave a glance, and what a glance. I nearly lost controll over my camera. The electronic viewfinder gave a humming sound while writing her portrait to the LEDs. That is what a girl can do with you. Knock you down with short glance full of everything. It has an severe impact, you can hardly stand such views and at last it knocks you down. You have no chance. You can see her laughing in the end …

Unusual view

“Sweetheart, this cruising ship is amazing. I really enjoy sitting here in the sun looking onto the blue sea. Come on, take some nice pictures.” You see ?? You understand ?? Fxxxx is again in your head, no relax, no refreshment. But you hear yourself saying “Sweet idea, darling, wonderful as you said ” and you grab your camera with a deep big grin in you face while sitting in your chair put it overhead and KLICK here we have it.

a wonderful and unusual picture. Both are served. And another thing just happend. You got appetite of doing more such pictures. Now go, walk thru the ship always looking for unusual views.

Sometimes you just stand in front of them. You just have to LOOK and arrange it a bit in your viewfinder.

It is so easy, you can even do it with a P&S camera. No hightech cam needed. Just your feet, your eyes and a bit of taste. So have have fun and use your vacation for unusual pictures. They will find their place in your photobooks and your guests after the travel will see them with open eyes and open mouths…..

And dont forget the view onto the blue seas….. All of them could be done with a simple and cheap P&S cam. Keep this in mind. But look out. In some cases, with bright and shiny parts or bright white areas you may dial in a + Compensation, perhaps +1 or +1.5 EV. No tricks, no miracles, no massive post processing. Have fun.
