Well, the break was short and the dance floor saw me back on my knees, shooting scenes full of running wild dancers.

Dancing together, asking for even more …

And suddenly he jumped into the dancing scene. It was like an earthquake. His performance was simply stunning. Me, still on my knees, simply firing shot after shot.

Inside an excessive dancing crowd with loud oriental music in my ears, impossible to hear anything else but this charismatic and inflaming exotic pipes and drums….

This was such a moment where i fully trusted my Oly-cameras, my Zuiko lenses and my trusty Metz flash. Full of sweat, exhausted, with a dry throat i was so happy when even the music band had a break for refreshments ….

While on my knees,gliding around on the dance floor taking pictures from the wedding guests i turned around and WHAMMMM…. the female danger just in front of me, only centimeters away. And how she moved, gently swinging her hips….. BOOOOYYYYYYYY. But i tried to keep calm and pressed the button

Okay, sweat everywhere and her small dress sliding downwards, still swinging gently her curvaceous body………OMG please help me ! And i pressed the button. I am a Pro !

Brush it up

What a little post processing can do. It is soooo easy to process a simple, boring picture into an emotional artwork. Try it yourself. Take one or two pictures from your archieve and start playing with your piece of software. You should develop some skills before you do a specific job !

Remember: It is your businesscard you will deliver with the final product ! She will like it and will be surprised and satisfied with your work. The emotional layer is back …

I am the Bride

And i simply asked her to stand up, which is not easy in such a weddingdress. But somehow she managed it and suddenly a crowd of guest behind me trying to snap that scene too. Well, i had to work very fast only three shots with a single light “setup” in a “Fire-and-forget” mode. Just a second later and the crowd nearly crashed me down to the floor…. :)

So i took this picture and suddenly they gave Babies to her and she smiled further on. I did not understand why they gave the Babies to her ???

even when she gave back the Babies she continued smiling.

All done with Olympus E-5, Zuiko 12-60, ISO400, f4, 1/160 second and one single hot shoe flash bounced again over my left shoulder…

Do it again

From time to time i feel it a good idea to rescan older pictures, just to have a look, to check progress or if it could be done even better now with new ideas or techniques. Well and a wedding is almost a wonderful task with lots of picture, seen but never developed.

So this one had the chance to get an approval from the former bride. And this time it got it, with a big smile in her face :)

You see the smile ??? Both pictures were reworked a bit to get the analog film look.

Make her a star

A wedding is a wonderful moment and a beautiful bride is a star, shining bright on her day !! Everything around her on this special day is to serve her, to please her. She is the center, the center of gravity, of majesty of everything.
That is the reason to place her and the groom :), into the center of your photography as well. So did i the last wedding:

Lots of wonderful pictures, tons, not even seen all yet. Bride and groom have to check which ones they want to have into their wedding book, as special prints, as greeting cards for the guest etc… But i took a small handfull of pictures and gave them to the bride and watched her eyes…. ohhhh… that made me smile :). But now she can not wait … :)

How long does it take ?

How long does it take to establish an emotional layer, a trusty, a reliable and durable relationship ? A question often asked, but the answer is quite difficult. I can cost you a lifetime or only seconds. It depends on the situation, on your own attitude, your situative emotions, your behavior. Many little things are working in such develeopment process and the tricky in such is, that is different. Sometimes a piece of chewing gum will do it and in other situations maybe a cigarette. or nothing will do it ! But what i can tell you is, when it is established ! When it is working. Kids a very good proof.

The last wedding showed 3 kids, playing around behind the ceremony. What did i do ?? I asked them whether they wanted to be the STAR ! And they acted asap. Controlled each other and brought themself into position. WOW, we had the layer established just in seconds, they trusted me, they worked with me and they had fun, fun, fun. And i too.

After the kid-shooting, they looked onto the camerascreen and were happy. Their parents too. Treat all persons with respect and treat them as a VIP. That may be the first important step to build this emotional layer. In my case it was done in seconds, costs nothing, made the situation more silent, gave wonderful portraits and the kids felt very important. Smile and the world will smile back !
