A bright and large window is a fantastic light source to use. Even and soft light. A curtain can soften it even more adding a specific touch to your pictures. A touch, you can extend and intensify thru a bit of post processing. This example shows a creamy and soft touch, as we wanted ! Try it yourself. It is easy.

Tribal Queen at the window

Here is another one from the series. It combines the “Dark Series” technique with portrait style and indian tribal attributes. It give a different touch, a different atmosphere to the picture. And again i have to say: It is easy to produce such scenes. It is just one single strobe, off camera and placed left to me, working thru a small soft box. The B&W conversion is done in post processing.

What a window can do for you is very easy to see, to discover. Its flooding the room with light and when you place your model close enough to that light source you will discover a luxury problem: Way too much light for large apertures :) Okay, lower the ISO, ramp up shutter speed or even add ND filter is a way to deal with such. Another way is to direct the light by flagging it. Use some dark, black, foamy sheets. Place them around her, forming a tunnel. That gives you the chance to direct the light to where YOU want it to be. Try it. Its easy…

Waiting for him

Waiting for him, standing behind the window, behind the curtain. Kissed by the warm and golden light of the sun. Every sense of her focused thru the window just awaiting him. Already prepare to embrace him with all her woman’s pride, willing to give him all her love.
That was the storyboard behind this scene and i think she did it well. How do you think about that ??

That´s a question every girl, every woman in world ask again and again. Sometimes in front of a mirror sometimes they ask YOU and look out, giving the right answer is not only “Yes, baby, sure…” or “No baby but the neighbor..” It is the nature of woman to show herself attractive, sexy, worth to fight for. And what is a photographers work in this question? Easy. You are the mirror on the wall: “You are the most beautiful in the world” and your pictures have to proof that fact otherwise they will beat you…

In this special case i took a former published picture and brushed it up with a vintage look, added some slight color spots to achieve the final look. And ? Yes she likes it :)

This is not Hipsta nor Instagram or Polaroid effect. This is just the play of natural light coming thru the window passing the silky, shiny curtain. She, just in between. It gave a wonderful colorisation without any help of pp software. Give it a try

Well, this is again better without any comments. But a few words on how it was created may be allowed. All girls want to be nice and sweet looking when doing bodouir shooting. Putting on her lingerie after the shower, working on her body for looking good. You, waiting in the set, waiting for HER to arrive and what do you do ? Right, a sneaky view… :) and you watch her moving behind the steamy, wet glass door of the shower cabin painting her footnails red…. Oh boy, that is the picture you want. So you take it. The rest is just “good will” :)
