Go down, on your knees, even flat on the ground and discover the wonders of mother nature. Small ponds become oceans, little piles of sand become hills and placed in the ponds they will be mysterious islands. Do not walk away, see thru your finder and you will produce fabolous pictures with a total different look. Thast pictures with the “boom boom” effect.This picture was made on my knees in the wet sand at the beach in Zingst and i enjoyed it.

Youth movement

While my stay in Zingst i took this snap in the morning. A class of Youngsters running on the beach, guarded and instructed by their teacher. Learning things about ocean, animals, insects, fish, whales, salt, beach etc. They had fun and jumped around like rubber balls :) This is an example and a proof for what a say and practise: Always have a camera with you. Even in the early morning like in this picture. Otherwise you will miss such opportunities

Explosion

And suddenly the sky exploded. Firework and lasershow melting together into one gigantic play of light and living colors. A stunning event in the cold night. But worth seeing. If you can join the next year it will be again on the same location on the beach, 29. March 2014. See you there

Wake up little Dragon

Thousands of of visitors, crowed on the frozen beach of Zingst, waiting for the grand opening of the “Umweltfotofestival” which is an spectacular laser and firework show. It has now about -20°C, we all wrapped in layers of anti-freeze materials. 3 pairs of gloves on the fingers, 3 Jackets, two pairs of shoes, lots of Wodka. And here it comes: The awake of the Dragon, heading for the sky…

The Dragon is alive

And the Dragon is alive and dancing in the night with fire and sparkles all over the dark sky. The crackling sound of its fire, the smell and the thunder is all over us in the dark. We stand still, deeply impressed, watching the dance of the Dragon. That was the grand opening of the “Umweltfotofestival in Zingst” The lightdance of elements. A fantastic laser and firework show in the night with about -20°C on the frozen beach. It was an outstanding experience.

Winterromance

When we traveled to Zingst we drove thru an amazing landscape. WInter was still there and active. Snow and ice all over the the land, covering everything, building a mystical atmosphere where only the trees shined thru.

Paint with light

Last weekend i had the wonderful chance to join a workshop with Olympus on Zingst. It was a very special event. One of the kind you will never forget. Beside the fact, that the weather condition was very very special, cold cold cold, lots of snow, icy streets, i saw a beautiful landscape, met fantastic people and joined an exciting workshop with Klaus Bossemeyer. Painting with light. It is easy to do. You need some LEDs, Batteries or small torches, colored gels to modify the torchelight and a camera with a stable tripod ! We used Olympus cams E-M5 from the OM-D series exclusivly. The camera has a special item called “Livetime/Livebulb” which actualize in given intervalls, which can be modified, the exposure on the cameras screen. So you have fully control over the longtime exposure while you play, you paint the scenery with light. Man, thats a cool feature. See one example
